The Chamomile flower can be used to make teas, infusions, or incorporated into bath salts, powders, and body butter. It has been used throughout history for it's anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, mildly astringent, and healing properties. From soothing surface skin ailments (such as cuts, eczema, sores, and rashes) to reducing inflammation and discomfort internally (including reducing inflammation of mucous membranes, bacterial skin infections, and the respiratory tract; providing mild pain relief as well as relieving stomach cramps/upsets; and helping with digestive issues such as diarrhea) it is a safe and gentle herb with many applications.
Chamomile may also be used as a mild sedative to assist in reducing anxiety, and numerous sleep problems such as insomnia or nightmares.
