Juniper Berries Whole are not berries but rather the fleshy cone of the evergreen juniper bush and grow wild in various parts of Europe, Asia and North America.
Juniper berries have antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. These properties help in the fight against acne and breakouts! Juniper Berries aid in balancing the sebum production in the skin by reducing excess oil production; therefore, reducing the clogging and blocking of pores which can cause acne and breakouts. They also rid of bacteria that can cause inflammation and infections.
Juniper Berries can be utilized by crushing and applying as a poultice, powdering in a blender and using as an exfoliant or wraps to detoxify the skin, or by boiling whole and slightly crushing (or in a bath tea) as steam therapy.
